Rename

edit

This article should be renamed to "List of birds of Nunavut" the same as the other articles in this category Category:Regional bird lists. I will leave it for someone else to MOVE the article to avoid an edit war. PianoKeys 22:18, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I moved it back because I thought it was inconsistent with most articles and it was supported by this naming convention which said it was preferred, but now I think either title is fine (I didn't realize how many articles used the other format too). Tim Q. Wells 07:59, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

July 7, 2020 revisions

edit

Because of the changes to the species list and those necessitated by the update to the Check-list of North and Middle American Birds which the American Ornithological Society published on June 30, 2020, the revisions to this article are presented here rather than in a long series of edit summaries. Changes are per the AOS unless otherwise noted.

  • Revise the references, counts, and text in the introduction.
  • Add a family and 13 species per Lepage - text is derived from the family's article; see it for original sources.
  • Delete 3 species per Lepage.
  • Revise multiple families' common names per Clements.
  • Revise the sequence of species in family Rallidae (Rails, gallinules, and coots).

Purple Gallinule Redirect

edit

Craigthebirder, I accidentally sent the last revision without entering revision summary. The disambiguation page is not required because this page is regarding birds in nunavut, which are exclusively new world birds. The other bird of the disambiguiation page is an old world bird. I thought I had said this earlier but it went astray: My bad. I was looking at it crosseyed, I guess - the direct link to American purple gallinule is necessary. Craigthebirder (talk) 12:09, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
