Border conflicts versus territorial disputes
editList of territorial disputes around the world is a list of territorial disputes both past and present in modern times [sic]. Bold indicates one claimant's full control; italics indicates one or more claimants' partial control. The article does not distinguish between a territorial dispute and a mere border conflict, and write now neither article links to the other. The lists also conflict - is this an instance of a Wikipedia border conflict, or a territorial dispute? Would it be possible to reach an amicable agreement to merge the two? --Pawyilee (talk) 06:11, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- PS: On second thought, I wouldn't touch a territorial dispute with a ten-foot Pole; should we try to dab conflict from dispute, or just drop a line in see also? --Pawyilee (talk) 06:26, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Senkaku Islands dispute
editDoes Senkaku Islands dispute goes into this list?--Bumblezellio (talk) 15:21, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
Outcome and UN resolutions
editIt would be generally interesting to have a column noting the outcome - whether or not any territory changed control. I'm also researching what border changes occurred with and without UN Security Council authorization, which in theory is the only circumstance allowed under international law. It would be helpful to note any related UN resolutions to the conflicts in the 1940s and later. -- Beland (talk) 01:23, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
