Hell No!

edit

"Hell No, We Ain't Alright" is a song by Public Enemy, NOT Kanye...

Page name?

edit

This page seems to satisfy the "Literature and music inspired by Hurricane Katrina" entry on the Todo list at Talk:Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps it would be better moved there and made to include literature? --AySz88^-^ 05:00, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Weird article name?

edit

Kinda weird to call the site "Tributes to Hurricane Katrina", isn't it? Since the tribute isn't to the hurricane, but to survivors of it. Tunes 23:29, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Move to Tributes related to Hurricane Katrina? --AySz88^-^ 02:43, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
...or Literature and music inspired by Hurricane Katrina as above. --AySz88^-^ 02:43, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

What about Green Day?

edit

Is "Wake me up when September ends" a Katrina tribute song?

-No.

edit

...but it might not be in wikipedia approved format. I am a newbie, can someone advise me on this? thanks. kate

Deleted "Walking on Sunshine" from the list

edit

Katrina and the Waves recorded this song in the '80s, and have not issued any re-recording or whatever since Hurricane Katrina. I know the band closed down their website and put up a link to a hurricane relief page, but I'm pretty sure that's all they did. Obviously, I could be wrong, but I couldn't find any indication anywhere that they recorded any tribute song.

"Katrina Clap" vs. "Dollar Day"

edit

Initially I moved this song from the tribute section to the criticism section and changed the title. When Mos Def's latest album True Magic leaked to the internet, the song's title was "Dollar Day (Surprise, Surprise)." It was commonly referred to as "Katrina Clap" because it borrowed the beat from Juvenile's song "Nolia Clap." Upon the album's official release, it was revealed that the title had been shortened to "Dollar Day." In fewer words: "Katrina Clap" and "Dollar Day" are the same song.--NPswimdude500 05:32, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm confused

edit

I can see the point of this page, but the title states that this is a list of charity songs for Hurricane Katrina victims, and then the article tlks about tribute songs. Have all of the songs raised money for the victims, or are any of them written to raise awareness alone?

Also, I was expecting to see 'Louisiana 1927' in the list. This song was originally sung by Randy Newman following an earlier hurricane and flood, but has been re-recorded after the recent disaster. Should I add this song, or does it not fit the criteria for this page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.152.253.163 (talk) 01:36, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
