Websites
editShouldn't all the websites be removed since "Wikipedia is not a collection of links?" If no one objects, I'm doing it. It'sOnlyMakeBelieve (talk) 14:11, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- What websites are you proposing to remove? Cbl62 (talk) 05:16, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- The links to all the church websites. As I understand it, Wiki isn't suppose to be a web directory and that kind of seems like what it's becoming. I'd rather remodel this (over time) to be like the List of churches in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, with a "Description/Notes" section for all the Orders info and notes people have added to the "Names" section. If folks want to see their website, they can always do a search. Or, where possible, the church websites can serve as references for address, etc. It'sOnlyMakeBelieve (talk) 05:24, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- If a link is merely to a church website with mass schedules and such, I'd understand the desire to remove them. But many of the websites include very good historical and architectural information and photographs. For example, the web site on the St. Louis Cathedral includes an excellent history subpage (here). I believe such information to be valuable. I'd support changing the column heading from "Website" to "Description/Notes" (as in the Santa Fe case), properly formatting the raw url's, and directing to history/architecture sub-pages, but not mass deleting sources simply because they are church websites.
