Cal Poly SLO
editI am removing Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from the list of Southern California universities because it is considered part of the Central Coast, not Southern California, by
- Southern California article that states that Southern California is south of the Tehachapi Mountains, and SLO is north of that latitude and does not fall into Greater LA, IE, or Southern Border, again per the first paragraph of the Southern California article.
- by Cal Poly
- by the city

Merge to California article
editI think this should be merged to List of colleges and universities in California. That article already exists and it would only be about twice as long as this one. --Naddruf (talk) 02:25, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Merge since the destination already duplicates the content in this article --Aloneinthewild (talk) 11:53, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- Merge because the relationship between the two is so evidently clear. Kobentori (talk) 11:52, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- Don't merge because this list is useful by itself - some people (myself included) might come to this page looking for universities particularly in this area — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1C0E:C048:5025:E18F:34E6:4D0A (talk) 06:00, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
- Don't merge: a separate list would be reasonable as a companion to List of colleges and universities in the San Francisco Bay Area. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 00:01, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
June 2021 proposal
edit- Merge, along with the Bay Area article. The statewide article can handle all the institutions without becoming WP:TOOBIG, so there is no need to split it off into separate substate articles. If the California article ever became a FL, it would have location information and a map added so that readers could seek out institutions in a given part of the state. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 06:30, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Merge we only need one list for the cooleges and universities in California. Catfurball (talk) 19:06, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
