Alteration of page layout
editFrom 13:39, 31 March 2020 – 14:45, 31 March 2020, the page format was restructured by User:Historyday01 without seeking consensus from other editors beforehand. This list was created on 24 January 2011, and since that first day 223 editors have become involved in it one way or another. Wikipedia is a collaborative project and no editor owns a Wikipedia article or list. Consensus is an important process.
I reverted the egregious edit with the following summary: "You cannot make such a major alteration of the article without CONSENSUS from editors. The discussion begun in Talk page is awaiting input from other editors. Create an RfC if not enough re[s]ponses are generated within one week. Seek consensus for major changes." Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 18:39, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- Whatever. You don't have to make a big deal about it. I would NOT call the edit "egregious" as I only recategorized content, not deleting anything. In any case, the current organization is a damn mess. I'll still make my minor edit to the beginning, as I continue to feel its worded badly. You can say there were that many editors since the beginning, but there have only been a handful this year. Likely you will reject ANY of my future changes, even if they are small, to the page anyway, so it will wallow in its absurdity.--Historyday01 (talk) 20:32, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- Did you make an attempt to ask me if I would consider changing the heading of the thread I created? No. You just went ahead and did it. WP:TPO: "
Section headings: ....Whenever a change is likely to be controversial, avoid disputes by discussing a heading change with the editor who started the thread, if possible....
" "Controversial" is in the eye of the beholder. That's why the least you can do is discuss "a heading change with the editor who started the thread ".
There's an obvious pattern of behavior evident in your edit of this thread's title and in your restructuring of the list: you do what you want to do when you want to do it. Other editors be damned. Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 06:15, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

- Fine. I changed the section heading slightly, I admit that. I also admit that I take action quickly on these pages, but that's only because of the nature of those other pages, mainly those focused on LGBTQ animation. I also admit that I do what I want to do when I want to do it, but I have consulted with editors in the past. In this case, I didn't think it was problematic at the time, although retrospect, I probably should have not made any changes at all.Historyday01 (talk) 13:21, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not have any rule that consensus has to be established before a page's formatting can be changed. Unless you can find evidence that Historyday01's edits actively messed things up, such as coding errors that broke the article or core changes to its content that misrepresented parts or all of the topic, simply reorganizing the page's formatting is not a thing they need to seek out permission for. Bearcat (talk) 13:46, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- "
not a thing they need to seek out permission for
." With all due respect, seeking consensus is seeking mutual agreement. It is not seeking "permission". If an editor can reformat a page anytime they want to -- then whatever they did to that page can be changed afterwards by another editor with a different POV. Not seeking consensus for major changes is a recipe for the domino effect and edit warring. We're talking about a top-down alteration of a page that attracts many editors. Some edit with frequency, some do it now and then. If Wikipedia editors don't try to reach some consensus on such a major page change, we engender resentment, alienation, and outrage. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
editI dont know how this works haha but I didn't see my favorite show and I thought i should let you know that The Mary Tyler Moore shows had an episode called "my brothers keeper" aired in 1973. Through it Phyllis believes Rhoda is dating her brother which she hates because she loves her brother so much and doesn't like Rhoda. She believes thier getting married. Rhoda exclaims she couldn't be dating him let alone marrying him and when Phyllis persists as to why Rhoda finally exclaims "Because he's gay!" the laugh track after went on longer than it should have. They had to edit it. Rhoda continues and says "Yeah Phyllis he's gay we're not getting married" and Phyllis hugs her and says "Oh Rhoda im so relieved." causing another laugh track. The actor who portrayed him (Robert Moore) actually came up with the idea and was gay in real life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9001:6603:3D86:BD76:7B89:C238:279C (talk) 23:11, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Reformatting of table
editThank you Isaidnoway for turning the list into sections by decades (24 February 2021). A lot of hard work was poured into this list.
Because this is a list of TV series, I'd like to make a suggestion: I think it would look better if the networks that aired the series's received more prominence. Perhaps a column for the Network can be moved into second place after Show? In a table with this format it makes sense to have the run dates in last place. Pyxis Solitary (yak).
