List cleaned
editI have cleaned this list of non-notable companies; this includes companies with no Wikipedia article and no satisfactory third party claim to notability. This is in line with the Manual of Style guidance for lists and notability guidelines. Remember that Wikipedia is not a directory - listing all companies is not necessarily useful. Before you add a new companies please ensure they meet the relevant notability guidelines, supported by reliable sources. In general it is best if the company has a Wikipedia page (on which notability is established) before it is added. |

Criteria
editWhat is the criteria for inclusion in this list, any notable companies that do business in Puerto Rico or notable companies of Puerto Rican origin?
It seems (from the first versions of this article) that the initial goal may have been companies of Puerto Rican origin, but now I see additions, such as HERE (where Merck, Pfizer, Lilly, and Abbott were added to the list) that include companies that simply do business in Puerto Rico but which are not of Puerto Rican origin. So what is the criteria for inclusion?
Fundamentally, is this article about companies IN Puerto Rico or companies OF Puerto Rico as the title states? Meanwhile I have reverted the edits. My name is Mercy11 (talk) 13:11, 5 October 2011 (UTC), and I approve this message.
- I also agree with Mercy. By the way Mercy do me a favor and add industrias Masso. Tony the Marine (talk) 00:34, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- Most similar articles use companies headquartered in the country; some will use external companies with a specific "notable" presence in the region. Basically, if "Pfizer Puerto Rico" is notable enough to have an article separate from the parent entity, then they will include it. Frankly, there is no standard, so whatever consensus is on this page is what counts. Kuru (talk) 14:23, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
