it seems to me this page should include something about battles with the plains indians, i.e. Battle of the Little Big Horn. But I am not knowledgable enough to edit it.

South American wars

edit

I see no reason why the Chaco War and the Columbia-Peru War should be included in a "List of conflicts in North America". If someone can offer a reason as to why they should be, I'm open. Otherwise, I'm removing them. 24.57.16.135 (talk) 14:22, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Second World War

edit

WW2 is incorrectly listed as having began in 1941, even from a North American context the war began earlier. The Dominion of Canada declared war on Germany in September of 1939 a few days after the United Kingdom did so and did so by it's own accord. Unlike during the First World War, Canada had complete control over it's own foreign policy thanks to the Statute of Westminster.

South American Wars

edit

I don't know how to edit, but I think the Falklands War should be removed from this page as it occurred off the coast of South America between the United Kingdom and Argentina. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.32.16.106 (talk) 03:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lead section needed

edit

This page should have a lead that explains what is meant by "conflicts", that is, what the criteria are for inclusion. It seems to be about wars, rebellions, and other violent events involving casualties. I see, for example, that the Pig War, which had no casualties, is not included. But 2007 Fort Dix attack plot and 2006 Toronto terrorism plot are, even though they were never carried out. Does "conspiracy" count as "conflict"? Also, if the Fort Hood shooting counts as a "conflict", then so should a huge number of other shootings and murders. I also note that Nat Turner's slave rebellion is not listed. I would add it, since it was a rebellion like the Whiskey Rebellion, which is listed, with far more casualties. But given the lack of criteria for inclusion, I'm not sure. Either Nat Turner's rebellion should be added or the Whiskey Rebellion should be removed. Which? In short, the page ought to say what exactly it is a list of. Pfly (talk) 07:16, 26 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
