Proposed deletion/merger

- No consensus. (sdsds - talk) 06:04, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
I have removed the PROD tag. I will explain why I disagree with the issues raised:
- Improper synthesis: Not sure what it is being referred to here. The introduction may be expanded, but it should be noted that if the reader wants to know what "net exports" is, they can click on the link and read the Wikipedia article.
- Questionable notability: Net exports is a component of GDP and a measure of a country's balance of trade, an important macroeconomic concept.
- Use of one source: The CIA World Factbook is authoritative. Using a single source for the data makes the list more reliable and consistent. If another source is found, a second table could be added.

- And here is the reasoning why I listed those prod reasonings
- The information listed was a synthesis of 2 sources of data, the imports and exports for each country. We don't synthesize 2 pieces of data into a new one and show it.
- We already have the lists for exports and imports. I don't think we have to explicitly do a net exports.
- As a expiriment, what would you say to a page that did the rankings based on net imports?
- All articles and lists are supposed to be sourced by multiple references that demonstrate the notability of the subject.
- I'm going to think about this but I think that the notability factor (which net exports just redirects to balance of trade[1]) qualifies this article as a good deletion candidate. Hasteur (talk) 03:23, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- If we already have the lists for imports and exports, why not join them here and make a list with everything? I also must say this list is much important for anyone who wants to check the countries' balance of trade than two separate lists for exports and imports. 2.80.36.117 (talk) 09:05, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with the merger idea. The data here is of clear value, but perhaps not deserving of its own page. Merging this list, along with List of countries by exports and List of countries by imports, into one page seems like the best idea to me.Rail88 (talk) 19:14, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. Keep it simple, have one article for import/export. Merge 'em and redirect the title. Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 22:59, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
I disagree - keep article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.83.249.5 (talk) 16:02, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Problem with sorting
editSorting by rank doesn't accurately sort. For example: 1. 10 100. 1000. Sorting by GDP also suffers from the same problem. Data in Million USD sorts fine though. 2.80.36.117 (talk) 09:10, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
More than GDP.
editHow can net exports be more than GDP? --Yomal Sidoroff-Biarmskii (talk) 03:24, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Out of date
edit2017, is this the latest figures available?
Arithmetic Gibberish
editIf Whatever is positive then (Whatever as %GDP) will also be positive. If negative then %GDP sldo negative. This is because GDP is always positive.
THE TABLE GIVEN HERE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE THIS PROPERTY. That makes this entire table useless 2405:9800:B913:CBCA:C949:F356:B746:A4A0 (talk) 12:40, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
