Talk:List of county courthouses in Nebraska

Latest comment: 5 years ago by Doncram in topic non-notable ones

Scope

edit

This was created as a list of notable courthouses in Nebraska. At least one highly notable one was deleted (in this edit, that was for the First Arthur County Courthouse and Jail. It is notable as being one of the smallest, perhaps the smallest, courthouse in the nation. If another historic courthouse or a current courthouse in the county are notable, they can be added too, but there is no reason to drop significant ones.

Also the list has recently be tagged with notice "This article is missing information about nearly one-third of the courthouses. Please expand the article to include this information. Further details may exist on the talk page." I am inclined to remove that notice; it seems negative. It is fine to state that there are 93 counties in the state, and to give how many are notable and listed here. --Doncram (talk) 07:24, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates and linked map

edit

Hey the coordinates and map linked by {{GeoGroup}} are perhaps the best feature in this and other list-articles about buildings. It is standard to include these. An editor just removed a bunch and I just reverted that. Please discuss. --Doncram (talk) 07:39, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

non-notable ones

edit

I don't think the non-historic courthouses need to be included at all, necessarily, but I accept that the i.p. editor wants to add them, with apparent restriction that a photo must be available. However, we should not assert, by wikilinking the title (making a redlink), that a separate article is wanted. Also, sourcing is needed nonetheless, e.g. for a date of construction. So this example edit delinking and "citation needed" tag, for the Adams County line. Note for the historic ones having separate articles, the date of construction can be found in the linked article, with source. I wish the i.p. editor would be adding sources. How get their attention? Delete their contributions unless they provide source? --Doncram (talk) 17:50, 3 August 2019 (UTC) In this editReply
