Selwant vs. Selwand
editActually, it is Selwant. Misspelled few times on the web, but this should make it clear:

Refs or articles needed
editWe need to have wp articles for each person on this list, or alternatively -- for each person -- a cite to an independent RS that indicates that they are notable and curlers. It does not suffice to have an EL -- we need refs for each entry, as otherwise new entries can be added, and editors cannot tell if the EL covers the new entries because they don't know which are covered and which are not.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:55, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- Articles for individual curlers will be difficult to find, but it will be necessary. All curlers listed on this page have participated in a World Curling Federation sanctioned event or a Canadian Curling Association sanctioned event, so they are notable, per WP:NCURL. - I'm not suggesting that individual curlers need their own wp articles to be reflected on this list -- they don't, though that would suffice. If they don't have a wp article, to be reflected on this list they need appropriate refs for each such person, however. The ref need not be a full article on the curler -- it need only reflect that they are a curler, and that they are notable per our standards. Each entry that is followed by refs that establish that is a perfectly fine entry to maintain on this list. However, simply having an EL at the end of the page will not suffice; among other things, as a practical matter it will always be unclear to whom the EL applies. If refs can be supplied for each notable curler, the problem will be addressed (and it will be easier for others to identify and remove non-notable persons from the list). Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 01:22, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- We are still a very long way from getting everybody referenced. If it doesn't happen soon, all unlinked and non-referenced names will be deleted until a reference can be found. The names will still be visible by looking in the article history but won't feature in the article until referenced. Please see WP:PEOPLE for more guidance. Cut
editI have removed the flags--they shouldn't be in here (per MOS:FLAG), certainly not in section headings. I am also removing, per Wikipedia convention, those names which do not link to actual articles. Keep in mind that the BLP requires verified content; in such lists, that is easily violated if there is no article. Plus, it is generally recognized that such list should link to articles: no article, no entry. Drmies (talk) 02:47, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- This list was created a long time ago (2005), when having flags in section headings wasn't such a big deal (or at least, I wasn't aware of the rule at the time), so blame all the poor formatting on 18 year old me. I was hoping to use this as directory of notable curlers, whether they have articles yet or not. Do you think it would be to acceptable to list notable curlers, perhaps sans red-links? I've been adding some curlers who played on teams that played in recent World Championships, but you've removed most of them. -- Earl Andrew - talk 13:40, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
