"If the deceased candidate is the Speaker of the United Kingdom seeking re-election the election must be stopped immediately". The entire election of all 500+ candidates, or just the one constituency? If the former it needs to be clearer and given a reference, if the latter then how is this case different? -- John of Reading (talk) 04:10, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
The speaker doesn't stand for a party. But the party rules, rather than the independent rules apparently apply.
