I'm not sure what this list is aiming to be. It would probably be better dealt with on individual club pages. If not it needs to be more clearly defined. e.g. How far back does the list go? How high in the football pyramid does a club have to be before inclusion? What is the difference between defunct stadia and redeveloped stadia (e.g. Bournemouth in the list)? The reason I created it was that the List of English football stadia by capacity, which included these, was too long. It certainly needs expanding and a bit of work on it at the moment though; I baisically copied it from the other page. Put simply, a defunct stadium is one that has been completely demolished and is no longer used. Wembley and Bournemouth are here because, although built on the same land, the stadia are compeltely new.--Robdurbar 07:49, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

The trouble with redeveloped grounds is that none of the original ground survives at Charlton, Manchester United and Tottenham (and probably many more). Does Old Trafford belong on this list? Nuttah68 08:25, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Does the original structure not stand though? My impression with Bournemouth and Wembley is that they have compeltely torn it down and started again; these other grounds may have been redeveloped, perhaps even compeltely gutted, but their basic foundations/external strucutre has been retained. If this is wrong, then we should remvoe the 'redeveloped on the same site' and just have those stadia that have been torn down entirely on the list. --Robdurbar 08:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

No, the grounds have been totally redeveloped. The Valley was the largest ground in English football. Half of the site of the original stadium is now a supermarket. Nuttah68 08:36, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

By this logic, most grounds that have been around for at least 40/50 years should be included! What happens when Fratton Park is redeveloped so that it is turned through 90^o? What about Deepdale, when the redevelopment of each side is completed?[1] Or St Andrews?[2] I will talk about Bramall Lane, as I know it well. I 1967, the Bramall Lane Stand was knocked down and rebuilt. The South stand was build in 1975, the Kop demolished and rebuilt in the 80's and the John Street Stand demolished in 1994 and rebuilt in 1996. Three corners have no been filled in, two with seating and one with a business centre. Is Bramall Lane prior to 1967 now ready for inclusion on this list? Criteria

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who's been in the football league or conference at any time is fair game for this list; in addition, any stadia that have been used by England naitonal teams. --Robdurbar 07:52, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
