Várnegyed
editIn this article, it talks about how District I has a neighborhood called Buda Castle. But in the Buda Castle article, it says ...
The Castle of Buda was built on the southern tip of Castle Hill, next to the old Castle District, Buda (Hun: Várnegyed) ...
So where is that district in this article?? --evrik 04:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
In my map (an official one), there is a neighborhood named "Vár" (which means "castle") between Víziváros and Krisztinaváros. So you can rename the link description "Buda Castle" into "Vár", if you don't mind using a Hungarian name, or it could be "Vár (Castle)". Adam78 22:18, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think the district is different than the castle, so for now, I made this change:

What are "towns in Budapest"?
editThere are no "towns in Budapest". Budapest is administratively divided into 23 districts. Former 7 towns and 16 villages were merged with Budapest in 1950 but they disappeared from the official city maps.
The City Council has the power to define so called neigbourhoods ("városrész" in Hungarian, i.e. "city part"). There are some 200 neigbourhoods defined but they have neither administrative nor political character. They are merely historic, sometimes with nonsense delimitation. Their names must appear on street tables but in many cases even local citizens do not know their limits and names exactly. Some of them equal former towns or villages but these are rare exceptions.
Belváros (in narrow sense)?
editWhy is it narrow sense? Belváros means literally Inner City. It can be said that the 5th district contains the inner city of Budapest in a narrow sense, but if we use the name Belváros, than it has no narrow or wide sense. It is exactly the neighborhood with the name Belváros. 80.98.146.68 (talk) 23:29, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
