"Named" equations
editSeeing as how the term was somewhat ambiguous (all of these equations are "named" per se), I chose to rename the section to the more specific Eponymous equations. If there are any objections, please discuss. --Kinu t/c 14:32, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Slight overhaul
editThere were a few minor issues with the article I fixed up.
• Molecular equation was repeated twice, which redirects to chemical equation anyway.
• Green Bank equation repeated, which redirects from Drake equation.
• The ideal gas equation was written "universal" gas equation – WRONG. Also was in incorrect position in list, if list is to be alphabetic (not too serious)...
• The lists were a bit too long and tedious, better split into logical categories.
• In addition, added a few extra equation articles to the list (yes in alphabetical order), and re-organized the list to make it easier to follow and use.
ESI removed
edit[1] I guess we have to have this discussion. Tom.Reding is following me around reinserting ESI into articles like this one. This particular index is pretty obscure and certainly qualifies for FRINGE concerns. I see some other equations on here which are similarly obscure or problematic that may need removal as well. Is there a WP:LISTCRIT that we can establish for this page to make sure it doesn't serve as a Wikipedia:SOAPBOX for people wanting to promote their pet ideas? jps (talk) 14:17, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
