first discussion in over a decade - delete?
editThis article was nominated for deletion in 2010 by Geschichte (talk · contribs), and the result was keep. I'm pinging @Tyrenius and DGG: who are the remaining active editors from that conversation. When editing artist biographies we try to avoid long lists like this, because they are like CVs. I have never seen a list of exhibitions as a separate list. I actually did a search, and found that this is the only such list in all of Wikipedia. I'm inclined to nominate this for deletion again (with the suggestion that this be merged into the prose of the main article's exhibitions section) but I wanted to raise a conversation here with the invested parties. --Theredproject (talk) 17:16, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- I said at the previous round, "excessive detail for anyone who is merely notable and not famous. In the absence of a book about him, he is not yet famous (sat least that's my minimum criterion for famous) I tend to be mergist on these lists--I think they are generally more useful as part of the article. " ; turned out that there is a book, but that minimum criterion I suggested was very much too minimal. I should have realized there were individual books about many thousands of artists, and that's really just the criterion for clearly notable. Since 07 we've greatly expanded our art coverage, and it is established every individual major work of every very notable artist can justify an article, but no artist at all has a separate list of exhibitions. I can see that some might possibly be justified, but we should start at he top, not the middle. This is a candidate for merge, and I do not see who would oppose. if anyone does, it can be discussed. - Thanks for that confirmation DGG (talk · contribs) --Theredproject (talk) 18:49, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
