Wikidata verification

The population of Russia listed in "current Wikidata" can be verified using:

in the JavaScript console. This will calculate the sum of all federal subjects. If the sum does not equal listed population of Russia (which also comes from Wikidata), something is wrong. --Ysangkok (talk) 22:30, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Similar population/size trivia

The parenthetical countries of approximately the same size need to be removed. This information is not germane. It is mere noise. Worse than simply beside the point, it is shoehorned in to columns with clear content and relevance. If the data were important enough to be included, it would merit its own column. But it is not. Inclusion of Crimea and Sevastopol

@Volunteer Marek: I'm not sure what your end goal is here. You're removing sourced information from this page with no reason. The very nature of this article means it should only need to be included in the 2021 Russian census in order to be listed here, which Crimea and Sevastopol are. Your initial edit summary also wasn't very constructive: "Stop trying to legitimize brutal aggression and illegal land grabs" is not a very helpful edit summary, especially for an edit seemingly made for no reason other than WP:IDONTLIKEIT Serafart (talk) (contributions) 05:58, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

Just because Russia conducted a census in these places does not make them part of Russia "de facto" or otherwise. Minimum here is that the list explains the situation of these areas and note that these are occupied areas of Ukraine. Volunteer Marek 06:09, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

@Mathglot: I'm not sure why you are removing this information after another user restored it. As this is a list based off of the Russian census results, and the 2021 Russian census is clearly cited, I am not sure how you can claim it is not properly cited. Because that’s the standard for other countries lists of administrative divisions by population, and shouldn’t be disregarded here just because some of the territories are disputed. See List of U.S. states and territories by population (from US Census Bureau), List of Chinese administrative divisions by population (from National Bureau of Statistics), List of Ukrainian oblasts and territories by population (Ukrstat) for examples of this being the standard on enwiki. WRONG DATA

It is obvious that the table presented is wrong When someone actually use the link provided the data is 146424729...and not the number presented If the witer does not want to use the official data is one thing...But falsification of the data from the source is another and is centainly not 'encyclopedical' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.54.65.222 (talk) 18:43, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Bottom two lists

The second list has four out of seven columns which deal with old data, and the third list is entirely old data. As the top list is sortable, there doesn't seem to be any reason to keep the second list. And data tables with more than one or two year columns seems like indiscriminate data collection to me.
