• When I created the article the original title sounded correct, but as the article progressed it seemed less relevant as there are teams on the list formed within the last ten years. I propose this as a new title List of football clubs in England and Wales by year formed This would better suit the content of the article and take into account the above grievances. Crystal Palace FC missing

Crystal Palace are missing from the list - presumably accidentally removed as part of the 1861/1905 dispute.

Is there any consensus on what year this should be added back with? Trimfrim20 (talk) 16:59, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

A user removed Crystal Palace which had a fully referenced entry for 1861. Like all other entries the date in the table reflects the date claimed by the club, disputed or not. 89.243.36.91 (talk) 10:33, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

This should be looked at again. No governing body recognized 1861 as the formation date to my knowledge due to a lack of a documentable link to the 1861 team that folded later. Other entries only state disputed dates in the notes but Crystal Palace leads the list as if this became a historically recognized fact. agreed, complete lack of evidence means it is inappropriate to have crystal palace in its current position, particularly as many other clubs disagree (and claim their place in the liniage as thought crystal palace was not there) 86.28.134.140 (talk) 02:48, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Furhter to the above, articles show the suggested date for crystal palace is not supported by other clubs, and goes beyond other clubs suggesting their formation date

Leyton Orient appear Twice in List
