Cleanup
editThis article could do with a clean up, perhaps put the artists in alphabetical order and include some references to the face they are coined 'gangsta rappers' 58.96.93.233 (talk) 03:12, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I see that it's sourced, by reviewers. But a Christian rapper with a gansta rap style still doesn't seem to me a fit with the other artists on this list. I'm sure Lecrae himself would classify himself a "Christian" rapper rather than a "gangsta rap artist". -- Ϫ 05:05, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, Lecrae lately has been describing himself as "authentically hip-hop and authentically Christian," or a hip-hop artist who is a Christian. But yes, I don't think he would classify himself as such. But artists themselves aren't considered authoritative on genres, professional journalists and/or DJs are. If it was just one source, I wouldn't have felt comfortable adding Lecrae here, especially because Cross Rhythms can be a bit odd with their genre labeling. But AllMusic calls him that too in the actual review, not just in the unreliable genre tags. In terms of content, Lecrae isn't anything close to gangsta rap, as he hardly deals with gang life at all. But his style definitely seems to fit in that label.--¿3family6 contribs 12:45, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
