Sources for Jacksonville
editI’ve tried researching Jacksonville (more specifically its county), yet to no avail. If anyone is able to do research on if this town is even real please let me know. DannonCool (talk) 04:40, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Johnson County Ghost Towns
editThere was a town in northern Johnson County called Helena, the cemetery still exists but the exact location of the town is unknown (to me at least).
There is also a near ghost town called Vesta in the south of Johnson County. it does have a wiki page but definitely qualifies for this list as last I was there the population was less than a dozen people. 2600:8804:49C:1900:4C49:72C0:1442:C9CD (talk) 18:41, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- This book that contains an entire list of place names in Nebraska (https://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1000&context=englishunsllc) doesn’t have Helena, but it has Vesta. On mygenealogyhound.com there is a map of Johnson County. It has Vesta, but no Helena. I’ll come back if I see more of Helena DannonCool (talk) 02:13, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- Update - I found a source that had a really old map from 1885 with Helena on it. You have to zoom in, but you can see it. It’s https://artsourceinternational.com/shop/antique-maps/city-county-maps/johnson-county-nebraska/ DannonCool (talk) 02:18, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
