Move

edit

This article was moved to List of generals of the Khalsa army without consensus. I have moved it back.

Suggestion to rename this article to: 'List of Sikh generals' and other improvements

edit

@CanadianSingh1469, @Twarikh e Khalsa, @Ronnie Macroni, @Usingh0663 - Hey everyone, since this article does not only cover the generals of Maharaja Ranjit Singh but rather all Sikh generals from various time periods (Akal Sena, Khalsa Fauj, Dal Khalsa, and Sikh Khalsa Army), I suggest we rename the article from its current title to 'List of Sikh generals' to better reflect its content and scope.

Secondily, this article is an uncited mess of random names. How about we remove all names that do not have either: (a) A reliable source supporting their inclusions, and (b) Their own Wikipedia article which affirms their military ranking.

What do you all think? This is an article that I have had my sights on for a while. ThethPunjabi (talk) 00:53, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree with this suggestion Usingh0663 (talk) 01:46, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@ThethPunjabi
I personally believe that either the articles name should be changed or the content of the article itself should match with what the article claims(I.e making the article a list full of ranjit singhs generals while removing any non sikh empire era generals) Twarikh e Khalsa (talk) 02:11, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Need better references

edit

Hi

I think we need better references as this is such an important page of Khalsa military history.

The name Jarnail Mehtab Singh Bhinder is quite unique and needs references. I am doing some reading on the army of the Maharaja and haven't came across any Mehtab Singh Bhinder. Mehtab Singh Majithia is one famous name but going by names in Majithia, he must have been a Shergill.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Walking in the fields (talk) 16:31, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
