Can anyone explain why software like Home Assistant, OpenHAB and Domoticz is removed from this page? The whole article is pointless if market leaders keep getting deleted. The manner in which links are killed off is pretty much WP:DIS and not at all WP:BOLD. The 3RR rule has obviously been violated, if not by a single editor. You don't want external links, create articles, but deleting these major players serves no interest than possible formal correctness while the content is suffering. Domoticz Draft
editI created Draft:Domoticz, it is being reviewed. As soon as it is accepted, I'll add it to the list here. IMHO is is very unfortunate and not at all motivating, useful and agile that everything has to be perfect before it is published. The result is a semi-abandoned list like this here...TomRoad-1 (talk) 00:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
This list is biased because it contains a random set of software. It lacks several market leaders.
- In order to become useful, relevant players should be added
- According to WP:WTAF#Red-linking_in_lists, the list items should be internal articles. However, creating these articles is far more time-consuming than providing the limited information provided in the list.
Proposed fix: Create Stub articles for a limited set of software (those that are far more relevant than the ones already in the list) and add those to the list. --TomRoad-1 (talk) 10:26, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- I also believe it would be impractical and discouraging to have to create comprehensive articles for the players first, then add the players to the list. I further think that having the players as red links, serves (or should serve) as an encouragement for others to help create those articles. Perhaps a comment at the beginning of the list explaining this situation would prevent deletions such as this? The redlinks policy is controversial, so perhaps a specific bit of WP:IAR would help here. -- Dandv 11:25, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks User:Dandv, I also think so. @MrOllie: can you please explain why your reasons to undo the relevant additions are more important than WP:IAR? --TomRoad-1 (talk) 11:39, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- WP:IAR applies only when there is broad consensus that it should. This list (and others like it) are primarily of value as navigational aids to Wikipedia content, so I do not believe that adding redlinks to the list makes it better. Remember, Wikipedia is expressly not supposed to be a directory site, the internet has projects such as curlie.org for that. - MrOllie (talk) 13:30, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Should this also be part of WikiProject Computing?
edit- Shouldn't this list alfo be part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Computing?
- How can it be added there?
- Who can decide if it should be added there?
- Who decides on the importance level?
- Can we just add {{WikiProject Computing|class=List|importance=Low|software=yes|software-importance=low}} here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TomRoad-1 (talk • contribs)
