Christe, der du bist Tag und Licht?
edit"Christe, der du bist Tag und Licht" could possibly be listed on this page, see http://www.bach-chorales.com/BWV0274.htm – or is that not authenticated? --Francis Schonken (talk) 09:34, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
- He didn't write the text, and his (probably small, and not sourced) part in the melody adaption is too little to make it a Luther hymn, imo. But feel free to start an extra section on such things. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:49, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
English names?
editWould it be inappropriate to provide, next to the German, English translations to the names? Frankly, this list is useless to non-German speakers and to people who don't already have a working knowledge of Luther's work.CarlsonC (talk) 05:01, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- The table is broad already, no? Most are linked to an article. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:06, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Re. "...broad..." – I suppose English title translations (which BTW need not be in a separate column) are more useful to an English readership than the column with EG and GL numbers (which seem rather pointless in English-language context). --Francis Schonken (talk) 10:30, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Take for example "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott," which sends a reader through to "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." If we're sending readers to articles about songs that have English names, it makes more sense to present that readable information to the reader now, in this list, as opposed to encouraging them to click through, every link, in order to see what they're reading about. The list here, should be a one-stop-shop, so to speak, for the English reader - sending them to other pages, for each song, will likely draw the reader away from the list because it's not functional in its current form.CarlsonC (talk) 20:22, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Done, column removed. A next suggestion would be to merge the "liturgical context" content into the "notes" of the last column. E.g. "Commandments" is not a liturgical context, so the distinction between these columns is futile: it's all notes, which can include liturgical context. --Francis Schonken (talk) 15:46, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
