Inmates List
editI'd like to shorten up the details section for some inmates. Most, if not all of them, have Wikipedia articles about them which get into a lot more detail.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MDEVER802 (talk • contribs) 01:59, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Leonard Peltier
editPeltier's cause certainly had value, but he murdered two FBI Agents. Calling him a "political prisoner" is an insult to the families of those agents and an insult to real political prisoners.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MDEVER802 (talk • contribs) 02:02, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Yori Von Kahl
editThis individual was involved in the killing of two US Marshals. See above section.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MDEVER802 (talk • contribs) 02:08, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
"Political prisoners"
editIt is extraordinarily tendentious, and inaccurate, to list Samuel R. Caldwell, Yori von Kahl, and Leonard Peltier as "political prisoners."
Caldwell was a marijuana grower and seller. Yorie Kahl (also spelled as "Yorie" and "Yorivon") was convicted of murder following a shootout in which two U.S. marshals were killed and others were seriously wounded. Leonard Peltier was likewise convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two FBI agents.
These are not "political prisoners."
Caldwell, now deceased, was convicted on drug-related charges.
The other two, still living, were convicted of violent murder and are in prison for those crimes. According to Justia[1], Kahl was convicted of second-degree murder; assaulting United States Marshals and other law enforcement officers assisting them; conspiring to assault; and harboring and concealing a fugitive. He was not convicted of having (per this page) a "supporting role"; and he was not imprisoned, as this Wikipedia page would lead one to believe, on the basis of being the "son of Gordon Wendell Kahl."
These three felons need to be moved to a category other than "Political prisoners."
