Talk:List of life zones by region

Several isssues, questions

As I understand it, a Life_zone is an area with similar plant and animal communities. I have several issues and questions regarding information on this list page, which I have listed and signed below.

I suggest that a major re-think of life zones is needed, for this page and for some of the inter-linked pages;

Purpose of the page ?

There seems to be duplication between this page and some of the linked pages; there is considerable inconsistency between types of information shown on the page - and also between interlinked pages on this topic, as identified below.

In my opinion the purpose of this page " ... to illustrate the features of life zones for regions around the globe" is not fulfilled as there is neither discussion nor explanation of what is being illustrated.

Unnecessary duplication of information (central Europe; Corsica)

Some detailed information in this page straight duplication with linked pages - see for example Life_zones_of_central_Europe, and Life_zones_of_the_Mediterranean_region#Corsica.
(On the other hand, some other information from sections of those two pages is completely omitted from this page).

Incomplete information

List_of_life_zones_by_region#Tropical_Andes_10°S points Life_zones_of_Peru to contains several different schemes (Classic version, Amazonic side is duplicated on this page; Javier Pulgar Vidal's version not mentioned here at all) but the information here is only altitudes and temperatures.

Inconsistent linking

A large number of pages of Peruvian information link to this page, but not to Life_zones_of_Peru (which is labelled 'Tropical Andes 10°S, see above).

Is this deliberate? or is it mistaken, following some change in direction at some moment in the past? jw (talk) 23:10, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Railways

This page contains information pertaining to some railways (List_of_life_zones_by_region#Ferrocarril_Chihuahua_al_Pacífico and List_of_life_zones_by_region#Darjeeling_Himalayan_Railway)

I completely fail to undestand the purpose of this. jw (talk) 23:10, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Jade Dragon Snow Mountains

List_of_life_zones_by_region#Jade_Dragon_Snow_Mountains contains only location, alttude, and temperature information - but little about flora/fauna/life.

I suggest that this needs to be enriched, or deleted, or included in the Jade_Dragon_Snow_Mountain page.
