editSince this article is new, certainly there is room for development in a number of ways. I've recently noticed that many past presidents of the College of William and Mary have exceeded the 25 year minimum. It might be a good idea to eventually create three lists: living, deceased, and perhaps an international lists for university chancellors (which would necessitate a name change). Feel free to weigh in or develop any of these ideas. Greg.Hartley (User:Talk:Greg.Hartley|talk]])Greg.Hartley (talk) 15:30, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Criteria Adjustment
editSince the list was getting to be rather long (179 rows at the last count), I have adjusted the criteria for inclusion from 25+ years to 30+ years. This shrank the list considerably, making the data more manageable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greg.Hartley (talk • contribs) 02:37, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- This seems like a good call. At some point we might want to up the list to 35 I feel, but we aren't there just yet I don't think. Jjazz76 (talk) 19:56, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
As of?
editThe entries that say "present" and then have a hard-coded length are problematic. Can we get the length updating automatically using {{Age}} and add {{As of}} as needed? {{u|Sdkb}} talk 17:35, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
Conflation of President/Chancellor
editIt seems that in some of these cases someone is a president and then later appointed a "chancellor" which in some cases seems like an honorary president emeritus type of position. Just because someone was a president 25 years and a "chancellor" for 30 years after retirement, doesn't feel like 55 years as head of a college to me. Any thoughts on how to reconcile this obvious issue for length of tenure? Jjazz76 (talk) 20:00, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
