Added an important warning note

edit

When I tried to add a Whale, 3-4 times as long as these other fish, to another list, an editor reverted it, and said that a whale is not classified as a fish, something I thought might be the case, technically, but many people aren't going to know this; and therefore this list could be highly-misleading without some kind of note. I have therefore added a warning note at the top, which hopefully will remain in the document. Misty MH (talk) 05:46, 29 June 2019 (UTC) Misty MH (talk) 05:51, 29 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in List of longest fish

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of longest fish's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Wood":

  • From Great white shark: Wood, Gerald (1983). The Guinness Book of Animal Facts and Feats. ISBN 978-0-85112-235-9.
  • From Tiger shark: Wood, Gerald (1983). The Guinness Book of Animal Facts and Feats. ISBN 978-0-85112-235-9.

  • From Basking shark: Wood, Gerald (1983). The Guinness Book of Animal Facts and Feats. p. 256. ISBN 978-0-85112-235-9.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:17, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
