PA Semi
I decided to be bold and remove the iMac and Macbook (Pro?) from the "Derived Products" column, as it seems unlikely they will use those chips for their laptop/desktop lines. Miggyb (talk) 09:07, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- That is a good point. Apple Inc. probably has not announced what the company will be used for, I think? Gary King (talk) 09:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Incomplete
This list is incomplete. It is missing quite a few smaller acquisitions, which a quick Google search reveals. Here's just one I found: http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2006/Feb/27/apple_buys_california_data_center.html
and http://www.macnn.com/articles/06/10/16/apple.buys.silicon.color/
I did find this list, but you'll need reliable sources to back it up (struck ones already on list):
- Digital Film Tree's 24P editing for Final Cut pro
Nothing Real- Shake and Tremor plus assetsSilicon grail- Rayz and ChaliceZayante- FirewireEmagic- Midi/DAW- India- Titler became Livetype
Spruce Technologies- Became DVDSP 2.0
I would also appreciate some form of background/history information, which can be found in many Apple history books such as Infinite Loop and Apple Confidential. Several times in the 1990s, Sun and Apple considered merging, or Apple considered buying Sun.

- I've added Silicon Color to the table, but can not find the value. Does anyone know? - tholly --Turnip-- 15:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- If you can, feel free to collect references for these companies. However, please do not add them to the list until the discussion at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of acquisitions by Apple Inc. has resolved. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 15:55, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
More
Apple Appears to have acquired Placebase [1] in July 09 (thought to be a potential Google Maps rival), and bought Siri [2] in April 2010 (mobile search app developer). 67.188.42.104 (talk) 02:27, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Current Divestitures
A lot of these Divestitures have since been sold. For example, Microsoft sold of their stake some years ago. Are there any suggestions for including this information in the list? ~ PaulT+/C 18:02, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Subsidiaries
Should FileMaker Inc., Braeburn Capital, or other subsidiaries be included in this list? Essentially any acquisition initially is a subsidiary, so why not include a list of all known Apple subsidiaries? ~ PaulT+/C 22:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
