Need More Groups

edit

I heard there are military governments under the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea any sources for that?. Koreanidentity10000 (talk) 01:01, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Title

edit

The scope of the article is unclear based on this title. Was there a group called the Irregular Army? If not, it shouldn't be a proper noun. czar 01:18, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Adding onto this. These groups aren't necessarily all groups of the KPG.
I propose renaming the page to "List of militant Korean independence activist groups". I'm going to go ahead and make the change and retool the infobox to reflect this. The page will still have a lot of issues afterwards, but it should be a start.
For others reading, if there's any disagreement around this, please let me know. Sorry for not waiting for consensus; as per WP:BOLD, I try to move a bit quickly. A lot of these pages are inactive anyway, and I'd like to think my changes are hopefully large steps in the right direction, even if they're not perfect. toobigtokale (talk) 03:02, 25 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Grammar and formatting

edit

Lot of issues related to grammar and formatting. Please be more thorough; look at featured articles like Cleopatra and please follow the rules in the WP:MOS to the best of your ability. The citations are good though. toobigtokale (talk) 03:20, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Korean People's Revolutionary Army

edit

Is the Korean People's Revolutionary Army a real unit, and what battles did they participate in? Or is it false and just propaganda or another name for the 6th Division, aka "Kim Il-Sung's Division"? Koreanidentity10000 (talk) 17:53, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Harv ref errors

edit

Hi @Koreanidentity10000, good work on this page and others. There are some reference errors on this page; I posted previously on another talk page about this, but it looks like you're using Template:Sfn but the full references for some sources are not present on the page elsewhere.

Could you please add those in? Also if you haven't already, consider installing User:Ucucha/HarvErrors so you can quickly see when errors occur toobigtokale (talk) 11:16, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Article length

edit

Hi, @Koreanidentity10000. Bringing this to your attention: the article has recently become too long. See WP:LENGTH, WP:SIZERULE, and [1].

Overall note: the summaries of each group are currently too long regardless of future steps that we take. See WP:SUMMARY. I.e. no matter what we do, I think we should prune the length of any group's text on this page that already has its own full article. This is just my opinion, but I think pruning to 1–5 sentences per group can be done. There are dozens of militant independence activist groups; having more than that for each group may be too long for any article. Their stories also have a lot of overlap; enumerating all of their stories may not offer significant additional insight, when most people will be reading an overview article like this to get a big picture of what militant groups were like at the time.

Here are three possible solutions I propose:

  1. Perform a split.
  2. Replace this article with one or more tables, no split.
    • Each group would have a summary, but it'd be 1–3 sentences max so that each row is not too tall.
  3. Some combination of 1 and 2. Perform the split, make List of militant Korean independence activist groups have a table, and move detailed descriptions to other article(s).

Complicated. Let me know thoughts. toobigtokale (talk) 04:01, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm just going to give each group a small summary of short paragraphs (or one) highlighting the important aspects of each one giving the reader the main ideas about them and not make them tired of reading. Koreanidentity10000 (talk) 13:37, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok that also works, as long as we still enumerate the various groups in a way that resembles a list. Thanks. toobigtokale (talk) 14:26, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
