This is a nice article. I was considering breaking it down like this myself. Hope to see this grow over time. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:50, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Hermione Bagwa
editA thing to learn about Wikipedia. Just because an article doesnt exist for a character doesn't mean someone won't fill it out later. Also this character is very obscure, and so she doesn't need her own article, but rather a link to a larger page with a bunch of minor minor characters, and the link simply goes down the page to the spot where her entry is. Works for any character like that. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:42, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Gender
editSome users have questioned the gender of robots. For reference sake, 2-1B is considered to be male. [1] --Viriditas | Talk 05:19, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
What I think is that there is a sort of generalization. For example C-3PO has a male voice and is generally like one wheras WA-7 obviously has female characteristics.
Inconsistency
editR4-P17 ...During Anakin's hunt for Asajj Ventress, R4-P17 accompanied Skywalker. R4-P17 had its head ripped off by a buzz droid during the Battle of Coruscant in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith killing her.
- Wait a minute. The R4 that accompanied Anakin to Yavin IV got blown up with his ship, so it clearly couldn't have been the same R4 unless he had an incredibly efficient repair kit. I assume the words "killing her" are either an attempt to apply gender to a droid or a misplaced reference to Ventress's (assumed) death. Lee M 01:34, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
IG-88
editShouldn't IG-88 be in this list?
- IG-88 has been the subject of enough EU fiction that he warrants his own page, IMO. BinaryTed 19:14, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Note to anyone intending on splitting off a section
editThis page has been processed by N-Bot, which, for browsing convenience, changes links to redirects to lists to links to the relevant list sections: e.g. [[OOM-9]] is changed to [[Minor droids in Star Wars#OOM-9|OOM-9]].
As a result, anyone who intends to split a section out of this page should be aware that, as of 6 August 2005, the following sections were linked to from the following pages:
- R4-P17: List of Star Wars characters, Jedi starfighter, Battle of Coruscant, Advanced Jedi starfighter, Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, Buzz droid
- OOM-9: Nute Gunray, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Battle of Naboo, Battle of Hypori
- 4-LOM: Protocol droid
- TC-14: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, List of Star Wars races, Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, Protocol droid
- RA-7: Protocol droid
- R5-D4: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- WA-7: List of minor Star Wars characters
4-LOM
editWhy does 4-LOM link here when there isn't any mention of him on the page?Euchrid 04:36, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
- The 4-LOM entry was removed 00:15, 18 December 2005 by 71.131.229.28 without explanation. As there is apparently no other article for 4-LOM and several pages link to it by name, I have readded the section. BinaryTed 19:13, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

OOM-9
editFor your information, the image you have for OOM-9 is, in fact, not OOM-9, but instead is an image of an unnamed commander droid which Qui-Gon cut in half when he was freeing pilots in the origional escape from Naboo. He may look the same, but there should be plenty of other images you can use that actually are of OOM-9. 192.103.41.201 01:06, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it looks like OOM-9 to me, but I've replaced it with Wookieepedia's image anyway. --maru (talk) contribs 01:29, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
"Specific droids rather than droid types"
editThe introduction to this page clearly states: "It [this page] includes specific droids rather than droid types (such as protocol droids and battle droids for instance.)" Aside from having the period inside the parenthesis and the redundancy of "such as" and "for instance", which I'll fix in a moment, it's blatantly contradicted by the presence of "battle droid" on the list, as well as several other droid types - air battle droid, seeker droid, assassin droid, bio droid, grapple droid, etc. etc. etc. Either the line in the intro or those droid types need to go. Should there be a separate List of minor Star Wars droid types page? Tophtucker 23:35, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ultimately, there should be mini sections for droid types on a main Droid (Star Wars) page, and no need for a list of droid types. — Deckiller 01:57, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Length of article
editThis article is very long. Longer in fact than some non-fiction, humanities articles on Wikipedia. Can each robot not have its own article?
- Perhaps it could be divvied up by droid type, or failing that affiliation (Republic, Empire, Freelance). --Anoma lee 07:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm probably nominating this for deletion in a few days
editThe title of the article itself says it all: this is a list of non-noteable crap, and exists on other wikis already. Jtrainor 16:46, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- This is one of my favorite articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.57.118.223 (talk) 06:42, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
R5-D4
editI don't know how to add the citation for this, but the bit about R5 D4 being sold to Voreen Naal comes from the West End Games Star Wars RPG sourcebook.
R4-P17
editOne could also argue that the droid was not completely destroyed and that Anakin once again repaired R4-P17. All that was seen was the remains of the head-plate fly off. Who's to say that the rest of the body didn't survive? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emperor001 (talk • contribs) 20:03, 24 May 2007
- (I moved the preceding text here because discussion doesn't belong in the article.) Pat Berry 17:34, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
R5-J2
editI have removed this section from the article. As it stands, it is completely non-notable; we know very little about it, and what little we do know seems fairly pointless. If there's any story at all that you feel makes it notable...please, let me know.

Fair use rationale for Image:4 lom.jpg
editImage:4 lom.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

TC-14
editTC-14 was destroyed when the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship was blown up in 32 BBY. I don't know who added that she wasn't but that is a piece of fanon. I have changed the article to tell that she was destroyed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.170.18.35 (talk) 21:49, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Revamp
editI'm working on amalgamating this and all the other god-awful lists at Category:Lists_of_Star_Wars_characters to remove all the ORish and arbitrary topics (i.e. what makes a character a "villain"? what if he/she later is "good"?) and repetition (e.g. Leia shows up on several of them). Once I've squished them together, they can be broken up just alphabetically like the slightly-less-crappy Star Trek character lists. I've copy-and-pasted these lists as of ~11:30EST 3 Oct -- if you make any additions to this list, I'll try to be sure to maintain them in the reworked version, but please be mindful that something might accidentally be overlooked. Thanks! --EEMIV (talk) 15:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Redirect
editI plan on Monday to replace the current content of List of Star Wars characters with the material at User:EEMIV/StarWarsCharacters, and then to redirect this page to that updated list. Much of the content on this page will go away -- for the better. Wikipedia is an indiscriminate collection of information, even on its list pages, and many of the entries were are truly insignificant characters. If you take exception to this plan, please say so here. --EEMIV (talk) 11:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
