Add an external links section for the videos that showed the watches being auctioned off?
editJust an idea. Could be really cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA8HZUjhbTQ&t=38s is the link for the current record holder AI coolTIM (talk) 08:08, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
Inclusion of the January-July 2020 watch auction result on main list
editWhen will the inclusion of the main watch auction results that resumed in July be recorded in the main auction results listing? Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 17:09, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
Bulova 'moon watch', $1.625 million?
editThis Bulova watch (more on the story here) doesn't seem to be listed. It is the only private watch worn on the moon and was sold for $1.3 million or $1.625 million including the fees paid to the auctioneer. Is there a particular reason for this? Yannis ✆|☑ 18:58, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
- I agree on this Yannis, this watch should be included since reached the threshold of at least US$1.5 million. Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 02:55, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
Move to List of most expensive timepieces sold at auction
editCan we make this list more inclusive given that record prices have been made not only for wristwatches and pocket watches but also for a Patek Philippe desk clock selling for USD 10 million at auction? I suggest that it be moved as List of most expensive timepieces sold at auction. Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 03:43, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Ranked list
editIs there a fastest way to add the temporary list to the main list? Since the market went crazy the last year, the work is way too long (no one has started it, indeed). Also I suggest to raise the threshold of he main list to 2.5 million usd. Theghast (talk) 14:26, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Seems to be missing the George Daniels SpringCase Tourbillon sold on 6 November 2022 for CHF4,083,500 at Phillips Geneva watch auction? Would change the rankings also? Alfie5890 (talk) 07:44, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

George Daniels 1992 SpringCase Tourbillon wristwatch - sold for CHF4,083,500 6 November 2022 and Daniels Anniversary platinum wrist watch - sold for USD$2,389,500 in June 2022 in NYC
editThe updated 2022 rankings seem to be missing the incredibly important sale of George Daniels SpringCase Tourbillon sold on 6 November 2022 for CHF4,083,500 at Phillips Geneva watch auction? This is around USD$7.2 million. I think this sale would change all your other rankings also and in particular would give George Daniels a ranking under "Manufacturers" of "3rd" solely on its own with 5 watches (not 4)? Also the list appears to be missing the Daniels Anniversary platinum wrist watch "00" which sold at Phillips in June 2022 for USD$2,389,500. This would take the tally to 6 George Daniels watches (but not change then a "3rd" ranking after adding the SpringCase watch) Alfie5890 Alfie5890 (talk) 05:46, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

Reason for price
editIt would be interesting to add information about why a watch sold for a high price. Was it a unique or very rare specimen of the type? Was it a relatively common watch valuable because of the famous person who once owned it? Was it expensive to make because of the use of expensive materials (gemstones, platinum, etc.)?Bill (talk) 04:00, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
