Source is a geocities page?
editIs there any other official source from which the list can be verified against? Maybe the Department of Environment and Natural Resources? --seav (talk) 15:17, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Separate lists
editThere should be a separate lists for each category - National Parks, Protected areas, Marine Parks, National Monuments etc or else, I predict a huge organizational mess in the future. Why should World Heritage sites be on this list? These are chosen by UNESCO therefore those are not national parks. National parks are chosen by the government of the country. -- Briarfallen (talk) 06:22, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

National Parks in Bohol
editThe list seems to exclude 1) Rajah Sikatuna Natural Park where the man-made forest and Loboc River is located and also bird watcher destination, and 2) the famous Chocolate Hills Natural Park
It also does not include the many marine protected areas in Bohol Josefwintzent Libot (talk) 00:02, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- The article lead describes its focus as being on officially designated places. It says that there are 240 protected areas in the Philippines, of which 35 have been classified as National Parks. The supporting source cited for that is dated 2012 and is linked by a dead link.
- Re Rajah Sikatuna, this says, "This forested karst limestone areas were recognized and declared a National Park under Proclamation No. 129 in July 10, 1987.". However, Proclamation No. 129 s. 1987, as I read it, withdrew the area from sale or settlement and reserved it for park site purposes, but did not declare it a national park.
- I got the following from http://congress.gov.ph/legis/ re Chocolate Hills:
House Bill/Resolution NO. HB01147
FULL TITLE : AN ACT DECLARING THE CHOCOLATE HILLS AS NATIONAL PATRIMONY AND GEOLOGICAL MONUMENTS, PENALIZING THEIR PLUNDER, DESTRUCTION OR DEFACEMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

- I dug around a little looking for better or updated info, and didn't find much beyond e.g., this. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 02:16, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hmmm..., I dug around a bit more, and found Proclamation No. 1037, s. 1997, amended by Proclamation No. 333, s. 2003. These establish an area as Chocolate Hills National Monument. Perhaps this article ought to cover national monuments in the Philippines as well. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 02:31, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
