Suggest inclusion of Chagas' disease representing a selective pathologic incremental devastation of autonomic/vagal control of the esophagus, heart and colon. Chagas is endemic to Central and South America and imparts a heavy burden in morbidity and mortality in this region. Understanding of an infectious disease as a neurological disorder has many precedents (see polio, swine flu, etc.) and could perhaps focus more attention to the mystery and widespread misery vectored by the Riduvid Bug.--Lbeben (talk) 02:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Agraphia?

I'm no neurologist, but is agraphia (dysgraphia) considered a neurological condition? The Dysgraphia article certainly suggests it, or at least that it is most commonly considered a symptom of some neurological or psychological conditions. Ex-conditions

I've reverted the latest edit removing dyslexia (since learning disabilities is in the list, and since the implication that neurological disorders cannot be genetic is false). A number of other entries have also been deleted recently: among these are Alzheimer's disease, Batten disease and carpal tunnel syndrome, which IMHO are unequivocally neurological disorders (not excluding them from other fields too, of course) and so I've reinstated them.

Others include Asperger syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, fibromyalgia and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I'm agnostic about these - do others have strong views? I would have thought a list of this type should be inclusive by default. Neurotip (talk) 21:14, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Multiple Sclerosis

Now here's a hot button if ever I saw one. How much evidence does Wikipedia need before a neurologicial condition becomes a neurovascular one? Aphantasia

Aphantasia is a neurological disorder. The fact that it is not listed on the NHI website has no bearing on its inclusion in this list. The NHI website is not the end-all, be-all of sources on neurological disorders; this page is called "List of neurological conditions and disorders". It is not called "List of neurological conditions and disorders as listed on the NHI website". It is covered in other sources and is notable enough to have its own Wikipedia page, so it should stay in this list. IP User, please discuss here before removing again.
