Stephen Vincent Benet added.

edit

I added writer Stephen Vincent Benet to the Arts section. His father served as Commander of the Augusta Arsenal when Benet was young, and Benet lived and wrote there. The house in which they lived is now the President's House for the Augusta State University...and it was named a national historical landmark in 1971. I was going to reference this, but was unable to figure out how to do so correctly. (I'm hoping someone can add that info.) For reference info, see Wikipedia article Stephen Vincent Benet House. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.220.195.106 (talk) 17:59, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hulk Hogan

edit

why isn't Hulk Hogan anywhere on this list? He is one of the most well known wrestlers (former and current) of all time. The page for him says he was born in Augusta, Georgia. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 02:53, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, he is in the actors section. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 02:58, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Erskine Caldwell

edit

Why is he not among Augusta's famous sons/ literature. Though not so much a native, his characters were taken from real case studies of his father,a Sociologist ( a bunk science) .These were people who lived in the Augusta area in the early 1900s. Only the names were changed, and truths omitted to make the fiction credible. 164.153.59.169 (talk) 18:02, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bobby Jones and Forrest Griffin

edit

Neither of them are “From” Augusta. Griffin was born in Ohio, and Jones was born in Atlanta. Griffin lived in Augusta but he’s not a native. Jones was the founder of the Augusta National but was not born here. Therefore it’s false to claim that they are “from Augusta”. 184.98.31.51 (talk) 08:22, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
