Image copyright problem with File:DickYork.jpg
editThe image File:DickYork.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

"Were lived in" is misleading
editI came to this page looking for scientists who had come out of Indiana. So far:
James Watson - born in Chicago, educated there, attended U of Chicago, did work for which he was most famous in England. Attended graduate school for three years at U of Indiana.
Salvador Luria - born in Turin, educated there, worked at Columbia in New York for three years, U of Indiana for seven, then U of Illinois, then MIT.
HJ Muller - born in New York, educated there, attended Columbia, worked at Rice, Columbia, University of Texas, in Berlin and Leningrad. He didn't move to Indiana until he was 56 and had already done the work that earned him a Nobel Prize
Julian Schwinger - born in New York, educated there, attended City College of New York and Columbia, worked at UCBerkeley and briefly at Purdue, before settling at Harvard.
Ben Mottolson - born in Chicago, educated near there, actually got his BA from Purdue, PhD from Harvard, worked at the Neils Bohr Institute.
Of the people I've looked at so far in the science category, the heavy hitters, the Nobel Prize winners, most of their interaction with Indiana was very limited and not in any significant way contributed to their achievements.
This is hardly an advertisement for Indiana's contribution to the scientists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.213.209 (talk) 12:24, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
Baseball players...
editShould the Indiana natives who both played and managed in baseball be referred to solely as 'baseball players'? AutomaticStrikeout (talk) 17:05, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Zelenéfield?
editDoes "Zelenéfield" actually exist? The only other article in wikipedia is Heather Stohler and there that info is hidden. Google gives 6 results which are all about Stohler. 91.152.32.181 (talk) 21:51, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
question about notable people
editI would like to be able to edit Wikipedia occasionally, but I usually am just unaware of the specific rules. I was wondering if someone could point me to the Wikipedia guidelines for Notable People. Specifically, I want to know what qualifies as being "from" somewhere. For example, I looked up a comedian who was born in one city, and raised in another. He is listed as a notable person in both cities. What about someone who has moved all over the country? Thanks, --Littledj95 (talk) 04:24, 4 August 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Littledj95 (talk • contribs)
