Changing topic of article

edit

I notice that the article has recently been changed from what it was since 2005 (people from Ottawa or who have lived in Ottawa) to just people who where born in Ottawa. This is quite a change in the scope of the article and I just wanted to check that people where okay with this as it seems quite bold. Canterbury Tail talk 11:31, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just noticed that as well. I was going to ask about it here, and then noticed your comment. So we end up with a situation where people who are widely known to be Ottawans or linked in the public mind with the City, but don't happen to have been born in the city, don't get included (people like Yousuf Karsh -- known the world over as "Karsh of Ottawa" -- and Charlotte Whitton come to mind), but people who were born in Ottawa but lived their lives elsewhere and have very little connection with the city do get included. Hmmmm.
