Violation of NPOV

edit

This list includes the names of the people who were killed by non government groups such as LTTE, TMVP, JVP, EPDP etc. which is a clear violation of the core content policy Neutral Point of View of Wikipedia. Unless reliable sources are provided to attribute these killings directly to the SL gov. forces, those names should be removed from this list to keep the neutrality.--LahiruG talk 07:20, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

You argued this in the Afd and the Wikipedia community dismissed it. Having not got your way, you have resorted to WP:DRIVEBYTAGGING.
The lead clearly states that this article includes killings by armed groups under the control of the Sri Lankan government. The links between the government and EPDP/TMVP are well documented in their respective articles. As a leaked US diplomatic cable states "top leaders of [the Sri Lankan] security establishment may be providing direction to these paramilitaries". A State Department report states "There were persistent reports of close, groundlevel ties between paramilitary groups and government security forces". HRW states "paramilitary actors often [worked] alongside the army as auxiliary forces".
There are no entries where the perpetrators are given as LTTE or JVP.--obi2canibetalk contr 15:16, 15 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
What you have suggested by Your reply is SYNTH. If you have read the AfD page well, then you must have seen the explanation given by me (to Wikimandia) to clarify this. If you can't agree on this there's no other option left, other than taking this issue to the relevant notice board. And on the attacks of JVP and LTTE, the perpetrator column should include the names of JVP/LTTE to keep the neutrality.--LahiruG talk 06:55, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Your explanation was not accepted by the Wikipedia community - that was why your Afd failed. As for those attacks where the JVP/LTTE are also blamed, notes has been provided. You are welcome to take this to the relevant notice board.--obi2canibetalk contr 13:49, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
This article is clearly NVP as the no evidence is given that these killings carried out by paramilitaries were state sanctioned. If you cant prove that these where carriedout as state sanctioned killings then these killings have to be removed. As the title indicates Sri Lankan Government forces are only the Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil Defense. Cossde (talk) 17:51, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia doesn't rely on official sources, legal outcomes etc to include content. It relies on WP:RS. Reliable sources have been provided to show that these paramilitaries work under orders from the Sri Lankan security forces.--obi2canibetalk contr 06:51, 18 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
You have not yet provided direct sources to prove that these killings were carried out by SL gov. forces. The sources provided in this page attribute these killings to militants such as TMVP, EPDP, ENDLF etc, who are clearly not SL gov. forces. As I have explained before this is a violation of both NPOV and SYNTH. If you can not agree with this then we can take this issue to relevant notice boards. --LahiruG talk 06:00, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please do that.--obi2canibetalk contr 10:54, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

The purpose of the page??

edit

Is this page a list of people killed during Marxist uprisings or the Tamil Nationalist uprisings or a people assasinated by SL governments through history? 112.134.103.120 (talk) 17:47, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

It's a list of notable people killed by the Sri Lankan government through history.--obi2canibetalk contr 18:55, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
