Marshall Seese Retired
editIt just feels like Marshall Seese should have the word "Retired" next to his name. I happened to have been watching his final days and beleive me when I say it was a happy ending to his career. I don't like to do any edits on the front page of the article! Thank-You!!! Lesbrown99 (talk) 04:36, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
editHello, Please do not add unreferenced or improperly referenced names as entries to the list of former employees in the article. A pre-existing article in Wikipedia for the person may demonstrate notability for inclusion. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 18:12, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Personalities?
editI'm not American and I may just be out of touch with the culture, but I cannot imagine an article in my country with such a name.
"List of presenters on The Weather Channel" would seem much more normal to me. Using "Personalities" seems to be an indication that the writers have been caught up in media marketing hype. HiLo48 (talk) 05:03, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- They are called personalities in the United States and any television station is like this over here, so since this is an article pertaining to the United States, I would have to disagree. --ZLMedia 22:17, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- That's cool. It just seems over the top to me to call someone a personality just because they've appeared on TV, but I'll defer to local knowledge. HiLo48 (talk) 22:28, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
People and shows
editI liked the way the Hosts used to be displayed it looked so much better than it does now ACase0000 (talk) 05:52, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- I put them Back the way they were before, Someone needs to create a separate article on Shows and Hosts, I am Just Saying that it looks better. ACase0000 (talk) 07:47, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

- wikipedia cannot accept edits that are not WP:CITEd to a reliable source. Claimed personal knowledge is not acceptable because nobody knows who "you" are, and nobody can just contact you at any time they want to verify it all. Due to extensive bad edits from many editors promoting your shows and personalities, we have had to lock the page and more strictly check for compliance with our policies. Possible move
editIs there really enough content on here to make this article separate? Back in October, I did remove a majority of the personalities that did not have a wiki article, therefore making them not notable per WP:LISTPEOPLE. I think this list could be added to the The Weather Channel#Current on-air staff section and would be a better fit there. Thoughts? Corkythehornetfan | Chat? 23:19, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- Agree For what it's worth, the article is pretty minimal now, so sure it can fit into the main Weather Channel article now. --ZLMedia 11:06, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- Done I've moved it to The Weather Channel#Notable current personalities Corkythehornetfan | Chat? 00:26, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
