Merger

I support the merger of articles List of communist parties in Nepal and List of regional and ethnicity based parties in Nepal to List of political parties in Nepal which contains all these. The same article may have a different section to satisfy the descriptions here if required though I don't see any such need.110.44.121.36 (talk) 10:51, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
SupportThere is no need to split the main list as there aren't very many notable political parties. Sublists are generally POV, unsourced or poorly sourced or even original research. Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:43, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- Support Why to keep numerous articles on parties? Are they updated regularly? Please see Election Commission to verify how many parties are registered! Recently nearly 50 of them got ban from commission and only 90-95 parties are registered. These article have more than 200 parties. So unnecessary. ☎️, please help fasten the merger process.103.10.29.88 (talk) 18:41, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Question What would happen to the section of defunct parties? Would List of communist parties in Nepal have a section for defunct parties that meet some notability and inclusion criteria? For example, previous representation? MarioGom (talk) 17:28, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Note that I don't oppose this proposal. I would like more clarity on what will be the merge criteria for the current content, because it will not involve just a merge, it might involve some content deletion, and we should be aware of it when deciding. MarioGom (talk) 07:54, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose for List of communist parties in Nepal. The question raised by MarioGom is genuine. It is not just a list. ~ Yeti Dai (talk) 06:07, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

- This request was made by someone POV-pushing for Nepali Congress. It has since been clear that they view each article/mention on Wikipedia as promotion of the subject, and were therefore trying to reduce mention of all other parties and increase that of Nepali Congress. They tried to create a list of democratic parties in Nepal, which was a bad idea, in my opinion. I seem to have fallen for a false dichotomy, when advocating against all such lists. I don't see any issue with defining what the communist parties are (it's right there in the name for every single one). The other list is iffy, but the editor did not make this proposal in good faith, and anyway there's no one interested in implementing the merge since they are now blocked. For these reasons, I have withdrawn my support. I intend to close this request in a day or two, if there are no objections to doing so (which would include at least one editor arguing "support"). If someone else is interested in pursuing this, we should start fresh. Regards! Usedtobecool ☎️ 16:21, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- Support:Well, I feel these 3 articles need a good revision and clean up specially after today! The image was clear since here.[1] I don't know much on who has proposed the merger still with a better vision, we should work on Wikipedia. Let's not make a mess. If this merger is ok, it should be done regardless of the person who proposed. Yes, I feel a list of defnuct parties is to be formed as by MarioGom though not merging these articles. Election Commission has dismiss registration of some parties.[2] Well, concensus matters. Thank-you!Spooninglass (talk) 09:28, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
