List of Hindu deities in pre Islamic Arabia

Interestingly a book called origines, by Sir W Drummond Adds mentions the worship of over 350 different types of Gods in Arab. In the page 439 of the book, it mentions the existence of these Gods in the Kaaba shrine before it was destroyed by Mohammed. Here are the names of the Gods which were originally present in the Kaaba.

Ammaalay

Does anyone know if the Arabian deity Amma'alay / Ammaalay is mentioned on this list under a different name or not mentioned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.208.233.139 (talk) 18:54, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

I have found out Amma'alay was not a deity but a member of the Dharah'il clan, and was named after the deity 'Amm.

Is/Was

some passages go "X is a god worshipped by Y", some are "X was ...".

Is there a current practice of worshipping these deities to justify the "is"? should they all be "X was", or maybe "X is a god *that was* worshipped by Y"? Duckles8 (talk) 08:30, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
