Proposed merge of List of public broadcasters by country with List of public service radio stations

Currently, the radio list is a fork. Either the broadcasters article needs to be reduced to a TV only list and renamed, or the radio article should be merged to it. Usedtobecool ☎️ 09:05, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Additionally, The entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_broadcasting is also partly cover this topic, and also has lists. These three pages should be cleared I woould make a radio list (this one), a TV stations list, and I would put all public broadcasters without listing their channels in the public broadcasting page. This one about radio is (almost) complete and up-to-date, all sources are checked while the other two is collaboratively made with huge differences in details, and actuality.

Hargitai, please remove external links from the article. They are not appropriate; some other editor might consider that promotion/spamlinks and quarantine the whole article in draft just for that. The official websites of the radio stations are only suitable in the articles about each one of them if they deserve and have one. Regards! Usedtobecool ☎️ 09:43, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello :Usedtobecool, what if I transform the weblinks to references? They are websites where the information can be found so they can be regarded as references. These caannot be regarded as promotions as they all are public service that serve, us. I will make internal links from all station names. Additionally, do you think that if I remove all radio channel names from the List of public broadcasters and turn that into a TV list and remove all radio/tv channel names in the public broadcasting entry, so do you think other editors would not revert it? Moving page to "List of publicly-funded radio stations"

As the updated lede explains, most of the stations listed are more accurately described as state media given they have no editorial independence from the government. I propose moving it to this new page that describes the article more precisely. Superb Owl (talk) 22:01, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
