This change replaced the reference with an archived copy of an earlier version, which could not be opened beyond the title page. I have removed the archive and restored the correct version. Downsize43 (talk) 00:48, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, the problem happened later than the above!!! Downsize43 (talk) 07:26, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

1. The admirable aim of avoiding multiple occurrences of a wikilink in an article can sometimes be a hindrance to usability for readers and a substantial burden for authors. For these reasons it is common practice to repeat wikilinks from the text of Australian road articles in the Infobox and in the Road Junction List.

2. For convenience any wikilinks in the Road Route Zones section of this article are repeated where applicable in the Routes section.

3. The Routes section consists of 18 separate tables with some overlap of linkable Locality names. An attempt has been made to avoid multiple wikilinks for these names within each table and between tables. Authors making changes are asked to continue this practice.

4. Many Tasmanian localities have no Wikipedia article, including some on numbered road routes. None of these have been redlinked, and authors are also asked to continue this practice.

5. The table previously below was a list of all localities in Tasmania that are mentioned at least once in the List of road routes in Tasmania but did not have a Wikipedia article. The Route number where the locality is first mentioned was shown. When an article was created for one of these Localities the following steps were completed:

  • Change the locality name in the table to a blue link.
  • Change the locality name where it first appears in the list of road routes to a blue link.

Removing 64 rows where a locality article now exists and is linked from its first mention in the "List of road routes" article. Only 124 to go!! Downsize43 (talk) 05:36, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Removed another 60 rows, about 64 (or 65) left. Downsize43 (talk) 23:33, 18 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Task now complete. Table removed. Downsize43 (talk) 05:05, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Tasmanian Road Route codes

edit

The Tasmanian road route codes document, the main reference for this list article, is no longer available online. The Placenames Tasmania website contains all the route code information (Route Code, From, To, Via, and Road Names) for each locality in the State. Google Maps also contain the same information.

Many Locality articles contain all three references, while most of those that have less than these three still have sufficient to support the text (if any) that describes their road infrastructure. Thus I believe that there is no need for any wholesale update of articles that use the Road Route codes document as a reference. Downsize43 (talk) 05:32, 29 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Now replaced by an archived copy which displays OK on a Win 10 PC but not on an iPad. Downsize43 (talk) 06:50, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
