More information
editBecause this article is a redirect from "Asantehene", the position title, I feel like it should be a bit more informative. Mainly I am confused because the article says that the position is that of "absolute monarch" of the Asante people, which implies that he has complete, unchecked political power without being paralleled or rivalled by other legitimate authorities, but it appears that this is within the state of Ghana. I realize that it is possible to have a locally autonomous region, and that it is possible for that region to be ruled as an absolute monarchy, but if that is the case I feel that it should be spelled out. It also seems like it could be that the position is merely a highly respected (and paid) symbolic position representing the unity of a people, or a symbol with some local administrative/property right, or something else entirely. The point is that it is not clear within the article, and it should be, even if this is a list. If that is not appropriate for a list article, then maybe this should be moved, because this information does not appear to exist anywhere at all on wikipedia. anamedperson (talk) 03:36, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Not constitutional monarchy or absolute
editThe statement that "Asantehene is now a national absolute constitutional monarchy, and is protected by the Ghanaian constitution" is probably incorrect. There is no reference to Asanthene in the constitution, and the "kings" are neither constitutional monarchs nor absolute rulers. They have no power.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:29, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
