Ten years later, i arrive with the same question. I think a list of school districts, possibly with sublists of their schools, is needed. --Doncram (talk) 05:05, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
The lede does say that "Many schools in Montana are self-administered — that is, not part of a larger district — and are thus counted as individual districts by the state of Montana and the National Center for Education Statistics." But at first glance i don't see any normal school districts mentioned. --Doncram (talk) 05:09, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I just came here in regard starting a high school and a school district article. Egad. What a mess. I'll do some research on this and fix/split this, and look into the notability of the numerous elementary schools on it. John from Idegon (talk) 00:49, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Doncram, I know this much without further digging. There are school districts in Montana and there is a numbering system. Looking deeper. Anything further will likely be an addition to the article. John from Idegon (talk) 00:56, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, this seems to verify the independent schools statement. And creates a quandry. As you know, a school district is presumed notable by geography notability standards, independent of the never ending argument on the notability of individual schools. But can we say enough about the 143 individual elementary school districts to justify free standing articles? I'd be willing to just go forward boldly w/o discussion if you don't have the time or interest. John from Idegon (talk) 01:18, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
