Removing made-for-TV movies

edit

I'd like to ask what the consensus is for removing made-for-TV movies from this list? That would, for example, involve the removal of the following films:

I think it would help sharpen up this list if it is limited to theater-only releases. Thank you. — RJH (talk) 20:21, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

As there was no objection I went ahead and moved these entries to a separate section on non-theater releases. — RJH (talk) 16:25, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Japanese films?

edit

The following links all appear to be based off the Super Sentai/Power Rangers series, although I'm not familiar with the genre so I can't be certain. The various List of Japanese films pages appear to just redirect most of them to articles about the individual Japanese TV Series, so they may all just be TV specials.

(should be Gaoranger)

What should we do about them? Anyone? Thanks. — RJH (talk) 19:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I removed these on the later day film. Their doesn't seem to much information about them on even Japanese films. I don't think they are very notable. Even with all the Godzilla films. Andrzejbanas 22:54, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re-design

edit

I re-designed the list to match with List of thriller films and similar cats. I would've asked permission, but well, I basically wanted to "Be Bold". Objections? Andrzejbanas 22:54, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I reverted the edit. There's nothing wrong with the list being long. You can just use Ctrl+F. 218.215.141.33 14:05, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think the redesign looks excellent, and so I reverted the revert. The only issue is that the sub-pages take a long time to load; possibly because of all the little flag images being loaded. — RJH (talk) 19:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, it gives more information to be more encyclopedic. I used tiny flags because sometimes adding countries names to the list made the list strech far too much. You could use control f to find things, but wikipedia pages are meant to be short. It would have to be split up eventually, so I just moved them eventually. Where on the internet can I find a complete list of all movies by genre? Can we have lists by decade as well as a complete list, please? 218.215.141.33 10:03, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Try imdb for that, but even they list their films by genre in seperate pages. The list would be too long eventually, and to make it more encyclopedic and of historic interest, it makes sense to sort them by decade, year, then alphabetical. Andrzejbanas 18:17, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

And it does take a long time to load on those pages where the redesign is complete and I have a fast computer. 218.215.141.33 10:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Video Hound's Sci-Fi Experience

edit

Okay, after many months I have finished going through the entire Video Hound's Sci-Fi Experience book and adding in any film that seemed even remotely notable in some manner. Phew. Most of the remainder were labeled woof and didn't seem worth pursuing. Hopefully the lists are pretty complete now.—RJH (talk) 23:04, 22 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

WorldCat Genres

edit

Hello, I'm working with OCLC, and we are algorithmically generating data about different Genres, like notable Authors, Book, Movies, Subjects, Characters and Places. We have determined that this Wikipedia page has a close affintity to our detected Genere of science-fiction-films. It might be useful to look at [1] for more information. Thanks. Can someone help me find a certain film?

edit

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone saw a film that is about the Earth being in danger from these curvy rays that disintigrate anything they touch. The way to stop the rays was to tap into a satellite system, and the heroes had to deactivate it to stop the disintigrator rays. If anyone can help me, please reply. Thanks. --24.231.87.111 (talk) 14:05, 26 February 2015 (UTC).Reply
