Female Commodores
editList of female British general, flag and air officers

Fleur T. Marshall - Head Healthcare Plans, Defence Healthcare, Defence Medical Services https://issuu.com/reptonschool/docs/21536_spring19_arch_s19-aw10 and https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/MsFiVC2phs4_EMNTdkDm6MqHugM/appointments (do you wish to insert Surgeon Commodores here?)

Do insert if you wish.
Thanks.

- Inserted Kennedy, Marshall and Hofman. Do you want to insert Robinson, a reservist? BlueD954 (talk) 03:58, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Why isn't Fleur T. Marshall added? BlueD954 (talk) 08:14, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
Reference 45
editCan someone fix it? Thanks. BlueD954 (talk) 11:43, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Title
editTitle is 'List of serving flag officers of the Royal Navy' but are Commodores considered as flag officers? Gaia_Octavia_Agrippa Dormskirk BlueD954 (talk) 04:05, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- My understanding is that commodores are not flag officers. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 09:52, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank You. Should the article be renamed? BlueD954 (talk) 11:23, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Potentially, but I am not quite sure what to. Dormskirk (talk) 13:54, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- So will you move it or let others do? BlueD954 (talk) 14:41, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- We need consensus on a better name first. SmartyPants22 (talk) 16:36, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- I suppose something as simple as List of serving senior officers of the Royal Navy would be okay? The alternative would be star officers, but that is an Americanism. As a side note, the Navy Directory lists both commodores and major generals. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 17:24, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- List of serving senior officers of the Royal Navy would be beter.BlueD954 (talk) 02:39, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- Rely to side note. The Navy Directory 2019 doesn't state that 'both commodores and major generals' are flag officers. The flag officers mention in that directory are Flag Officer Scotland and Northern Ireland and FOST which is now Commander Fleet Operational Sea Training BlueD954 (talk) 06:47, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- This Royal Navy BRD [1] states on page xxi that "Flag Officer: An officer of the rank of Rear-Admiral or above exercising command and authorized by the Ministry of Defence to fly a flag. Officer of Flag rank: An officer of Rear-Admiral’s rank or above." So Gaia_Octavia_Agrippa Dormskirk and SmartyPants22 I believe the title should change. I suggest as Gaia stated List of serving senior officers of the Royal Navy or List of serving admirals and commodores of the Royal Navy. You may capitalise admirals and commodores. Best.BlueD954 (talk) 07:19, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
- Either of those are OK with me. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 09:33, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
- The Navy Directory was mentioned as a source for names, but I'm glad its helped clear the status issue up too. I'll move this page now. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 18:32, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Updates and comments
editI have added additional Commodores and added promotion dates to Rear-Admirals and Commodores where necessary. Gaia_Octavia_Agrippa Dormskirk could you kindly check if there are any mistakes. Also, should to retire or retired officers be listed? Thanks. BlueD954 (talk) 08:13, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Looks good to me. I would not add retired officers - it would be a very long list. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 09:19, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. BlueD954 (talk) 10:05, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Senior Royal Marines
editShould we add senior Royal Marine Generals and Brigadiers to this list or create a new separate list? Thoughts? BlueD954 (talk) 10:04, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Asking advice for Gaia_Octavia_Agrippa Dormskirk Thanks once again. BlueD954 (talk) 12:11, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- I would create a separate list. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 12:13, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- I believe separate too. I'll make it now. SmartyPants22 (talk) 19:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Looks like I'm too late :) SmartyPants22 (talk) 20:00, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Outdated and useless page
editSo many unknowns. 2401:7400:4025:E4E0:C199:49DA:4B55:702C (talk) 23:57, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Agree. At least two of the "serving Vice Admirals" are not serving - they are retired (and now civil servants) and several Rear Admirals are incorrect too. The list of Commodores is particularly wrong. 185.13.50.177 (talk) 13:24, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
- Which two? I count onw. 2401:7400:4023:1B13:17D8:8E2B:C004:3BCC (talk) 04:35, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
