Article on SS Fiscus states that the "fatalities included two of the youngest killed in UK Merchant Navy service in the Second World War. Brothers Kenneth and Raymond Lewis from Wales were 14 and 15 years old respectively". Carcharoth (talk) 18:22, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation

Care is needed to disambiguate correctly. The SS Don (1892) is not the SS Don listed on this memorial (which was built in 1893 and sunk after striking a mine on 6 May 1915). Sometimes the differences are obvious, other times less so. Many of the ships listed on this memorial are listed as red-links on disambiguation pages, or as redirects to an entry in the 'list of shipwrecks' pages. It would be better to distinguish between those that have articles and those that are an entry on a disambiguation page or an entry on a shipwreck list. Carcharoth (talk) 17:35, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Women listed on the memorial

• I've changed two instances of "seamen" to "seafarers" as google suggests this is the currently preferred gender-neutral term, although it is possibly anachronistic. Thryduulf (talk) 12:39, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Other awards to some of those named on the memorial may include Lloyd's War Medal for Bravery at Sea. Finished looking up ships with articles

Have now finished looking up the ships with articles. about 57 (WWI) and 186 (WWII) of the ships appear to have articles and are now listed. Maybe a couple of further additions of any missed (need to check for initials other than SS at some point), or new articles get written, but the listing is fairly complete now (though limited to ships with articles). The listing will never be all the thousands of ships named, but will hopefully be of use. Female casualties

Claim here that "J. Carr" is Josephine Carr and the only female on the WWI memorial. It seems that Carr is on the Plymouth Naval Memorial (as she was a Royal Navy clerk) and that the name on this memorial has been 'removed' (but in practice actually left in place).
