Unreleased songs
editWhat about Sunshine Woman and Sugar Mama? Can they be put under as under album and date: NA? I know they are unreleased but they were still recorded by Led Zeppelin.—SPESH531Other 04:12, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Featured Status
editOjorojo, I've been working extensively on this page to bring it to a featured list. Since you've been helping me with List of cover versions of Led Zeppelin songs, I was wondering if I'd be ok to nominate it for featured status now and if not what I (or we) could do to help get it there. Thanks. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 00:59, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- It's come a long way and is a potential FL. You may want to look over Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Led Zeppelin discography/archive1, Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Led Zeppelin discography/archive2, and, more importantly, some other recent similar "List of songs recorded by..." FLs to see if you've covered the frequent concerns from reviewers. Then submit it for peer review, then WP:FAC. I can make some comments/suggestions, but ultimately it's your vision. Good work! —Ojorojo (talk) 02:10, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks man! I'm probably going to bring a couple more of these "List of songs recorded by..." lists to featured status.BeatlesLedTV (talk) 02:20, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
Some observations/comments (don't feel that they need to be acted on, but consider):
- Lead – This is quite long (a list should stand largely on its own) and discusses albums, tours, etc. The focus should be on songs. Maybe include a brief mention of who wrote the group songs, how the credits were distributed (music vs. lyrics), how this changed over time, which are more associated with particular members, etc. Although the "cover" writers are noted in the captions, maybe something could be in the lead also (e.g., preference for adapting old blues).
- Images – These may be crowding/competing with the table (how does it look on a portable device?). Perhaps reduce the px a bit.
- Writers – Since space is limited, consider using the full names for the first appearance, followed by last names only. Also, this field sorts on the first letter of the name. For entries with first and last name, using {{Sort}} would fix this. (But I notice several FLs use all full names and don't sort on the writer field.)
- Length – Not sure that this field is needed, but the leading zeros look odd (see Help:Sorting#Numerical sorting problems).
- Ref. – The cites for "Bring It On Home"and "Dazed and Confused" don't show the "Writer(s)" listed. Maybe better to link to 2014 reissues.
Good luck! —Ojorojo (talk) 17:47, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input I fixed a couple things you touched upon. I appreciate it very much. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 01:49, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
Sunshine Woman writers
editI'm having trouble figuring out the official writers for "Sunshine Woman". The Complete BBC Sessions credits (Bonham, Jones, Plant, and Page). However, AllMusic credits (Bonham, Jones, Plant, Page, Robert Johnson, and Willie Dixon) while Discogs credits (Bonham, Jones, Plant, Page, and Dixon). Anyone have an idea of who the official writers of the song are? BeatlesLedTV (talk) 19:08, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
- An image of the actual album notes shows: "Jimmy Page/Robert Plant/John Paul Jones/John Bonham/Willie Dixon/Robert Johnson".[1] The ISWC (T-919.867.978-6) shows the same, but alphabetically.[2] Page say they made it up on the spot,[3] which is probably why all four are credited. Plant however threw in some old blues lyrics, so I guess they decided to play it safe and add Dixon and Johnson (if they'd have done that 45+ years ago, they could have saved a lot in lawyers' fees!). —Ojorojo (talk) 19:57, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Awesome thanks! I'll add Robert Johnson to the list. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 23:52, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- The Discogs link added to the article doesn't have any images of the actual album notes that show the songwriter credits and the text doesn't include the correct ones. This is also the case for "The Girl I Love". This is one problem with Discogs – many releases must be sifted through to find the right one. —Ojorojo (talk) 14:07, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair writers
editThe credits for "The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair" were updated on the 2016 remastering/reissue to include Willie Dixon and Robert Johnson for some lyrical content (scroll through to fifth image). —Ojorojo (talk) 16:13, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks very much I'll add it. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 23:58, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- See above. —Ojorojo (talk) 14:07, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
No Led Zeppelin images?
editIs there a reason why in an article about Led Zeppelin, there is not a single image of Led Zeppelin, instead there are images of other artists? 177.8.84.3 (talk) 06:48, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- The image in the lead shows the members of LZ. —Ojorojo (talk) 14:07, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
Overlinking?
editIs listing the members of the band in every entry not considered MOS:OVERLINK ? --Jennica✿ / talk 06:25, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
- I thought it would be but other editors at FLC said that because it's a sortable table everyone needs to have links. I personally don't like having all of them but it's what they said. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 14:41, 18 October 2018 (UTC)

Bert Jansch arrangements of traditionals
editIt's mentioned in the "List of Led Zeppelin songs written or inspired by others", but since there are side panel images of the original artists of some of the songs here, I would think mentioning Bert Jansch might be appropriate here as well. I don't ordinarily participate in Wikipedia writing/editing, though, so I'll leave it to the more experienced to judge. 68.196.193.253 (talk) 20:32, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Double entries (of the same songs)?
editWhy "songs" such as "Two Ones Are Won" and "Desire" are listed here, if those are actually "Achilles Last Stand" and "The Wanton Song" respectively in their demo versions? They even sound 99% the same as those released on studio albums.
For instance, on Metallica songs' list "The End of the Line" is listed only once since "Neinteen" is only a demo. 2A02:A319:A0E5:7C00:894C:4DA5:A008:4C1 (talk) 22:48, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- I have now fixed the table accordingly. I was new to WP when I wrote this list 7 years ago and had not considered your comment but you're right, these are essentially the same songs. I hope this suffices. :-) – zmbro (talk) (cont) 13:55, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
