SR 87

This highway has not been found yet. It is unlikely that this route number was skipped.Alexlatham96 (talk) 21:53, 18 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Alexlatham96: Nevada State Routes prior to the 1976 renumbering were defined in the Nevada Revised Statutes. Nevada DOH/DOT previously created some books that compiled all laws relating to state highways, including the route lists, a few of which are at the UNR library government document collection. I made copies of the route list portions of these references dated 1951, 1958 & 1972. In the 1958 version, defined route numbers skip from 85 to 88. In the 1972 version, just 87 is skipped. I haven't ever tried to find all versions of route lists from old versions of the NRS (which would be a long bit of research), but this bit of information (and the fact that nobody thus far has found SR 87 on any old maps) suggests it is entirely plausible that the 87 number was never used. -- LJ  14:55, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
