Table?
editPutting the list in table format would have several advantages, such as allowing sortability. However, it would make the precise indication of citations difficult without appearing tedious. It would also require figuring out how to indicate subsequent figures and how to deal with naming variations (perhaps indentation or borders?). For example, the below is pretty easy, containing no alternative names, but does not indicate that "Big Star" is a figure which follows "Ace of Diamonds".
- "Ace of Diamonds" (Hawaii: "E-ke-ma-nu"): position 1, similar to Cat's cradle's "Mattress"[1]
- "Big Star" (Navajo)[1]
- "Andromeda Galaxy" (invented): opening A[2]

Template?
editPutting the entries on the list in template format can make them equally or more accessible to editors. The format is fairly clear:
{{List of string figures |name= |location= |translation= |additional name 1= |additional location 1= |opening position= |notes= |citations= |collected= |area= }}
- "Ace of Diamonds" (Hawaii: "E-ke-ma-nu"): position 1, similar to Cat's cradle's "Mattress"[1]
